We’ve enjoyed some incredible food and wine tours in Tuscany, but our day at Fattoria La Vialla was almost too perfect to be real. Set amongst rolling hills and vineyards, discover this beautiful family-run Tuscan farm. We visited on a trip with friends and spent an afternoon filling our bellies with fresh pasta made from homegrown ingredients, and swapping stories around the long table. Generous helpings, free-flowing wine, and friendly strangers made it one of our favorite food memories in Italy!
Fattoria La Vialla Eco Farm, Tuscany
From the moment we arrived, everyone at Fattoria La Vialla welcomed us with open arms. It feels like you’re stepping back to a simpler time, in the rustic farm setting bathed in that gorgeous Tuscan glow.
Unlike a restaurant experience, you don’t have individual tables; you all sit together at one long table under a vine-covered pergola. We loved how easy this made it to interact with other couples, friends, and families, as we clinked our first glasses of prosecco and passed plates of food across the table. It couldn’t have felt more quintessentially Italian!

Tuscan Farm Food: Six Courses of Heaven
Over the next few hours, the food flowed as quickly as the wine. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn’t just three courses; it was a six-course feast! Here’s what you have to look forward to:
- Warm, fluffy focaccia straight from the oven, infused with freshly picked herbs and farm-pressed olive oil.
- Bite-sized Antipasto, made up of olives, cheese, and cured meats from the farm.
- Fresh handmade pasta topped with seasonal sauces (you can also buy these delicious sauces in their on-site shop!).
- Garden-fresh salads and home-grown roasted vegetables.
- Dessert and sweet wine (also from their vineyards).
This isn’t a cooking class; it’s a relaxing farm-to-table experience! The ladies working in the kitchen (the absolute stars of the show) make everything. We’re vegetarians, and they gave us extra special treatment, taking the time to tailor the menu and bring us dishes packed with flavor.
This experience cost us 25 euros per person for our group of 6, and we visited in early October (off-season). The price might be different in other periods and depending on the number of people. (But it’s worth it!)
Love wine? The farm’s biodynamic wine collection deserves a special mention. Fattoria La Vialla farms 180 hectares of vineyards, and each bottle has its own unique character. You’ll be offered a selection to try at lunch, and you can shop for bottles to take home at the wine shop after.
We were following a pre-planned Tuscany itinerary, so we didn’t get a chance to do this, but next time we’re definitely reserving a cottage; the promise of farm breakfasts and vineyard sunsets is too tempting.
- Explore the medieval streets and Renaissance squares, like Piazza Grande.
- Shop at the local markets (there’s a famous antiques market on the first weekend of every month, which we hear is excellent!)
- Climb the cathedral and see the stunning frescoes inside. Here’s the location.
Best time to visit: Arrive early in the morning before the town wakes up, and enjoy a delicious espresso on one of the squares. This gives you plenty of time to explore Arezzo before your delicious farm-to-table experience.
